BACKGROUND

Shem Compion has been hosting photo safaris across Africa since 2005. Over this time, he has seen thousands of game drive vehicles, each one with its advantages and pitfalls. No one vehicle was ideal for photography, so we went forth and built the definitive photo vehicle that caters perfectly for wildlife photographers.

Using our extensive experience photographing from vehicles, we set out to design a vehicle that allows for unparalleled photographic ease, speed, stability and comfort.

WHAT IS THE PHOTO VEHICLE?

Designed and built by same wildlife photographers behind the successful Matebole underground photo hide, our Photo Vehicle is a testament to our team's expertise and passion for capturing wildlife. With a focus on combining comfort, speed, and stability, this uniquely designed vehicle offers unparalleled photographic convenience.

The interior boasts fully customized features including support for bean bags and cameras, ensuring efficient and stable photography. It also features cushioned, dustproof, and waterproof storage compartments for quick access to your lenses and other photographic gear. The spacious two-row setup can accommodate up to 4 individuals but is ideally suited for 2 individuals, each having a row to themselves.

The vehicle comes with your specialised photographic guide and a Mashatu ranger and includes 1 optional tutor session per day and 1 x hide session subject to availability upon booking.

WHERE DOES IT OPERATE?

The PhotoMashatu vehicle only operates on the predator rich Mashatu Nature Reserve and is available for all lodges within the Mashatu portfolio.

WHEN CAN I GO ON A DRIVE?

Game drive times are as per the respective lodge times with morning and afternoon drives.  On request you may stay out longer to access more remote parts of the reserve or spend extra time at a sighting.

Recommended lenses:

A combination of zoom and telephoto lenses such as 24-70mm, 70-200mm and up to a 500/600mm lenses are ideal.
