Spend a memorable evening underground photographing and observing all the nocturnal creatures of Mashatu. The Lala Limpopo Sleep-out Hide offers a “one-of-a-kind” comfortable safari suite built into the ground, with an incredibly active waterhole, previously known as Pete’s Pond, right outside the window. The waterhole is 3m from the photographing window.
Our renowned Matebole Hide has seen great success, with many award-winning photographs captured from this hide, designed specifically for photography. Building on this triumph, we are thrilled to introduce a completely new experience for photography enthusiasts and wildlife lovers alike. A unique underground sleep-out hide that allows you to observe and photograph the nocturnal species of Mashatu Nature Reserve.
With innovative lighting, our tried and trusted underground hide expertise, and a comfortable suite to relax in - you can now create incredible never-before-seen images from dusk till dawn.
Target mammal species: Elephants and a variety of animals such as impala, zebra and eland, baboons during the daylight hours and nocturnal species such as leopard, hyena, jackal and lions during the night.
Target bird species: Waxbills, Meyer's parrots, African Green Pigeon, Firefinches, Guineafowl, Go away bird.
